Port Blair, July 28: The Tourism Minister of Karnataka, Shri H.K. Patil visited the pavilion of Andaman& Nicobar Tour Operators Association at the IITM Bengaluru.  The association discussed on the frequency of direct flights from Bengaluru to Port Blair and also LTC for visiting A&N Islands. The Minister assured that he will have a discussion with the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma and send a delegation soon to the Islands. The ANTOA Pavilion is being represented by its President, Shri. Bhuveshawaran, General Secretary Simson and few other members.

Port Blair, July 28: Ration Rasheed foundation today felicitated Isles’ Chess Prodigy Miss. Kashthuri Bhai for her outstanding achievement in the 17th Asian School Chess Championship 2023 held in Uzbekistan. Kashthuri had won both a Silver and Bronze medal achieving a remarkable feat.

Port Blair, July 28: The A & N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) conducted a mainstreaming training programme on HIV/AIDS for the CRPF deployed for internal security duty at District Jail, Prothrapur on 27.07.2023 at 10.00 am. 42 personnel participated the training programme.

The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society.

Port Blair, July 28: The A&N Administration in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, conducted a National Apprenticeship Awareness Workshop at Lemon Tree Hotel here yesterday.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, the Secretary (Labour, Employment & Training), A&N Administration, Shri. B S Jaglan, IAS, emphasized the commitment of the Administration in engaging apprentices in various departments to provide gainful employment opportunities for the youth of the Islands. He highlighted the numerous benefits of the apprenticeship training scheme, emphasizing its significant contribution to society and addressing the local skill requirements. He also highlighted the action plan of A&N Administration for implementing and strengthening the apprenticeship training scheme and urged all departments to align with the initiative.
